"I knew from my experiences at the 2005 World Championships that Shanghai is the best location for the new museum," said Chuck Hoey, the previous curator of the ITTF museum.

"I am happy about the move to China where the sport is loved and where athletes have had a long tradition of success. Many more people can enjoy the museum in China, and my expectations about the future are very strong."
