PRESTON — Ronnie O'Sullivan became the first snooker player to reach 1,000 career centuries by clinching the Players Championship title with a break of 134.

The five-time world champion got to the milestone after switching to play a shot left-handed — to huge cheers from the crowd at Preston Guild Hall.

The 43-year-old O'Sullivan won the final 10-4 against Neil Robertson.

Stephen Hendry, the record seven-time world champion, has the second most career centuries with 775.
