Should eating and drinking on the subway be banned?

I don't see a problem with people eating on public transport but only if the food is cold. No hot meals. That would solve much of the odor problem. Speaking of which, I have spent too much time on public buses here almost choking on the stench of "morning" garlic breath emanating from fellow travelers. It's awful.
