The creative production of the movie was supported by Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co Ltd and its parent company China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, which was formerly Jiangnan Manufacturing Factory.

According to the producer, the creative team spent several years researching the mechanical equipment during the Age of Steam and investigating historical sites and documents.

Iconic landmarks in Shanghai such as the Bund and the City God Temple will also be featured in the film.
