Yizai Zhongguo (The Legacy of Chinese Art), a new TV program on Chinese art and artifacts, will be aired on Beijing Radio and Television Network at 8 pm every Saturday.

The show aims to popularize the knowledge about art and history, by introducing pieces of arts and crafts and inviting experts in the fields to share their findings.

The show's first episode will focus on a 18.7-meter-long scroll of painting attributed to Xu Yang, a Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) court painter. It depicts a majestic royal ceremony at which Emperor Qianlong inspects returning military troops which have just achieved triumphs in battles in the Northwest.

In this painting Xu also depicts the street scenes and architectures along Beijing's central axis area.
