Chengdu hosts major healthcare forum

Chengdu hosted a major healthcare summit Thursday, bringing together experts for the 7th Development Forum on West China International Smart Healthcare Valley, an innovative healthcare industrial park located in the city's Wuhou District.
The forum, which focused on medicine and engineering integration and digital health, attracted experts and scholars, as well as representatives from medical institutions, industry associations, investment and financing institutions, and health and wellness companies.
During the conference, the Wuhou district government signed cooperation agreements with several companies on the construction of eight innovative platforms and major industrial projects covering areas including innovative drugs, digital health, high-end imaging, and medical trade.
"The innovative platforms created by Wuhou district offer diversified services to companies. We will leverage these platforms to help build a complete medical device supply chain," said Xie Gang, an executive at Wuchan Zhongda Medical and Health Investment Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province-based Wuchan Zhongda Group Co Ltd.
As a highlight of the forum, the Huaxi Digital Medicine Large Model, an AI product developed based on the medical resources and research strength of Sichuan University's West China Hospital, made its debut. It can deeply learn and simulate the medical decision-making process, providing precise diagnostic assistance and treatment recommendations for doctors.
The event also provided a platform for local enterprises in Wuhou to showcase their innovative products, technologies and services and facilitate exchanges with experts and industry peers.
