Born on March 16, 1910, Fu Xiaoyu is from Miluo, Hunan province. In 1926, he joined the Northern Expedition, a military campaign to topple the incumbent, warlord-led Beiyang government (1912-28), to reunify China. He served as a lieutenant officer of the National Revolutionary Army. Later, he served at three newspapers as a reporter, interview director, and editor-in-chief. Among his accomplishments is his reporting on the Battle of Changsha. Fu passed away in Changsha on Dec 17, 2017. The photo was taken at Fu's home in Changsha on Dec 3, 2017.
