The new campus, occupying 13.3 hectares in Beijing's Chaoyang district, will serve as the academy's main site. It offers a full senior high school curriculum and is part of the Beijing Academy group, which runs 29 schools across the city.

Principal Xia Qingfeng said the long-term goal of the academy is for all member schools to participate in the Nobel Prize Innovation class, with artificial intelligence and advanced science courses to be made available throughout the group.

Beijing Academy group, which includes a diverse range of primary, junior and senior schools in Chaoyang and Beijing's suburbs, is an example of how to balance educational resources in local communities. The Nobel Prize Innovation initiative is a major effort in Beijing's broader educational reform and upgrading strategy.

Yin Yuan, vice-director of Chaoyang, said: "It is expected to invigorate the Dongba area, which is traditionally weaker in educational capacity, and inject new vitality into the district."
