Bus break failure causes one dead, 4 injured

A migrant worker from central China's Henan Province has been killed in Beijing after a bus lost control, due to the brake failure Tuesday afternoon, local newspaper Beijing Times reported. The tragedy took place as the victim, Li Junbo, a 19-year old boy was waiting for a bus to take him to the long-distance bus station. He would have then boarded a bus to return to his hometown in Henan Province. After being informed of her son's death, his mother rushed to Beijing in order to deal with his funeral arrangements. Meanwhile, another four waiting passengers have been injured, but none of them are believed to be in a serious condition. According to a witness the bus, a 322, which was about to leave the Sihui bus stop in eastern Beijing, first crashed into a pillar of the Sihui Bridge. It then swerved back toward the Sihui bus stop at a very high speed and didn't stop until it crashed into the passenger's waiting pavillion and guardrail. The passenger transport company responsible for the 322 bus service says the cause of the tragic accident is still under investigation. Analysis on the bus' "black box" recorder is being conducted by the manufacturer. |
