KATHMANDU -- Nepali President Ram Baran Yadav said on Monday that Nepal was highly eager to benefit from the growing economy of its northern neighbor China.

"Nepal appreciates China's tremendous economic achievement. We want to benefit from it," Yadav said during a meeting with new Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai.

Wu, who arrived here on March 7, was in the President's Office to present his Letter of Credence.

Yadav emphasized on the Comprehensive Cooperation Partnership between the two countries.

"We further want the continuity of Chinese aid and help to Nepal," the President said.

Yadav reiterated Nepal's commitment to One China Policy saying that Nepal is committed to providing full security on Nepal-China border.

Ambassador Wu said that China and Nepal have been good neighbors for centuries and are the friends in need and indeed. "China highly appreciates and values the Nepali support to the matters of our vital national interests," Wu said.

Wu succeeded Yang Houlan, who took charge of Kathmandu embassy for 1 year and 8 months and left Nepal on February 28, 2013.
