Businessman jailed for refusing to pay workers

The boss of a construction company in Anhui province was recently sentenced to a year in prison after he withheld wages from migrant workers, Xinhua News Agency reported on Wednesday.

Jiang Bin did not pay more than 100 migrant workers for a project in Bengbu, eliciting complaints and protests from the workers. The workers are due 5.28 million yuan ($866,400).

A local court sentenced him to the one-year sentence after he refused to pay the workers.
