China on alert of H7N9
GUANGZHOU - South China's Guangdong province reported a new case of human infection with the H7N9 virus on Monday, with the patient having died on Sunday.

The man, surnamed Wu, was confirmed to have contracted the bird flu virus on Sunday. He had chronic bronchitis and died of organ failure later that day, according to local health authorities.

Guangdong also reported three H7N9-related deaths at the end of February.

However, two H7N9 patients in the province were discharged from hospitals over the weekend.

Across the country, the H7N9 strain of bird flu has infected more than 120 people and killed 36 of them so far this year.
