Beijing Zoo, one of the largest city zoos in China, will launch an online live-broadcast website for animals in cooperation with Baidu, the country's Internet giant.

The website, China Online Zoo, will launch on June 1, which is Children's Day, the Mirror Evening News reported on May 19.

Internet users will be able to watch live broadcasts of animals at Beijing Zoo by searching for specific animals via Baidu, the report said.

The website will be the first of its kind in China, Baidu employee Yin An said.

So far, cameras had been installed in the zoo's ring-tailed lemur pavilion and the panda pavilion.

An optical network was also being built in the pavilions of animals, and the project will be finished in June, according to the report.
