Sports bring on drunken driving

More than 100,000 cases involving driving under the influence of alcohol were reported across the country during the 2016 UEFA European Championship from June 11 to July 11.

The Ministry of Public Security said 3,706 people were caught between 6 am and 9 am during the event.

Games in later stages of the tournament typically start at 3 am Beijing time and may not end until 5 or 6 am.
