New Year celebrations around the world

A woman dressed as Britain's 16th century Queen Elizabeth I participates in
the 21st New Year's Day Parade in central London January 1, 2007. Thousands of
people watched the parade comprising of over ten thousand performers from all
over the world as it made its way through the city from Parliament Square to
Piccadilly. (Reuters)
