Jingyuan Chinese wolfberry's brand value reaches 1.38b yuan

The brand value of Chinese wolfberry or gouqi produced in Jingyuan county, Baiyin city, Gansu province was 1.38 billion yuan ($211 million) last year, according to the 2015 China Brand Evaluation Press Conference, in Beijing in December.

Jingyuan’s Chinese wolfberry ranked eighth among traditional Chinese medicine geographical products.

The CCTV Financial Channel and the China Council for Brand Development have jointly held the China Brand Evaluation since 2012, aiming to promote brand development.

This year's event appraised the products in three industries, based on 21 national standards. The categories under evaluation included the brands of the enterprises and products, and regional and independent brands.
