The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences' Archaeology Institute published a book on a mass grave that was discovered in the city of Datong, Shanxi province, of people killed by Japanese troops during the Second World War providing more evidence of Japan's crimes in China.

The book came out on Dec 13, a day of memorial for Chinese who died in the war and describes the discovery of the grave in an old coal mine, with photos of the victims' belongings.

The publisher gave 409 copies to Datong's Memorial Hall for the war dead, where the curator, Shen Qiang, said he thought the memorial day was the best time to present the evidence to the public as a good way to remember the dead.
