The 7-year-old male tiger mates with the 3-year-old female tiger naturally, and they were not injected with any drug to provoke their instincts, said officials in the base. The South China tiger, which could be found only in China, is listed in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Chinese animal breeding specialists have in the past tried a number of methods to boost numbers of animals close to extinction. [Xinhua]
