Elmira Ramileva in women's 69kg category and Alexander Urinov in 105kg were the two offenders, said Hussain Al Musallam, Director General of the OCA.

Ramileva was found using the banned substance 3'-Hydroxy Stanozolol, an anabolic steroid when her urine sample was collected December 4. Ramileva was fifth in the competition.

Urinov, seventh in competition, tested positive for a cannabinoid in an in-competition test conducted on December 3.

"These athletes have in fact committed an anti-doping rule violation and as such should be disqualified from the Games and their results in the competition canceled and the cases forwarded to the International Weightlifting Federation for further action," said Al Musallam
